PAUL’s breakfast pastries get your day off to a great start. Our croissant is the perfect example of an enduring French classic: flaky, buttery pastry, both crispy and soft and with a glorious flavour. Our Pain Chocolat features two bars of delectable dark chocolate. In addition to our delectable fresh pastries you’ll find everything from fruit salad pots and fruit and yoghurt pots to mini chocolate hazelnut doughnuts and mini sweet choux pastry bites. History relates that the ‘pate Viennoise’ used to create croissants and other breakfast favourites was popularised in France thanks to a small bakery in Paris called Boulangerie Viennoise, opened in around 1838 by an Austrian former artillery officer called August Zang. This style of baking immediately became all the rage, so in spite of their origin in Austria, these melt-in-the-mouth morning treats are inextricably linked with France. Every PAUL bakery is filled with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked Viennoiserie in the morning.
