Baguettes

The long, slim, freshly baked baguette is synonymous with French bread. Often called a ‘French stick’ in the UK, this is close to the original meaning of ‘baguette’, which is a rod, wand or stick, hence ‘baguettes de tambour’ – drum sticks, or ‘baguette de fée’ – a fairy wand. All the authentic French baguettes in our shops are made from simple natural ingredients, including our own specially imported French flour.

We believe all bread should be made the natural way. Our baguettes are made using old fashioned methods, tested and proven by five generations of our family. There is no secret behind the exceptional quality of our bread, just excellent ingredients, time-honoured techniques and plenty of patience. The result is an appetizing, authentic French baguette with excellent texture and taste. We bake baguettes that are perfect for any occasion. Tear off hefty chunks and dab them into a pool of olive oil and balsamic vinegar or use them to mop up home made soup. Make sandwiches with them, eat them with cheese, meats or salads. Spread liberally with butter and jam. However you choose to enjoy our French bread baguettes, we wish you bon appetit!
