Millefeuille Cake
The name Millefeuille translates as a thousand leaves or sheets, referring to the layers of the puff pastry used to make this irresistible French dessert, versions of which have been enjoyed since the 1600s. In our millefeuille the puff pastry is caramelised with sugar, making it extra crisp. The white fondant icing sits on top of a very thin layer of apricot jam. Sandwiched between these puff pastry layers is a rum-laced vanilla custard cream. The whole confection looks simple but tastes absolutely glorious. Please note: this cake contains alcohol. Available to serve larger numbers, you can add a personal message for special celebrations.
