With my first bite I was taken back to the street parties of Pontoise on a hot summer's night in '45. I immediately remembered the smouldering look the GI gave me, before bringing over a carafe of white wine. We danced under the new moon, with the scent of freshly baked "Victory Croissants" wafting on the sweet summer air. Thank you, Paul - whoever you are, for making an old lady very happy.

A deliciously moist croissant, with hints of oak and a apple blossom coming through towards the end
