From 16th April, as part of our drive to improve sustainability, we’ll be giving a discount of 50p to customers who bring their own reusable cups when buying hot drinks to take away.
Did you know that our two London restaurants serve afternoon tea in the best British tradition, but with a uniquely French twist – naturellement?
Help us to reduce the number of disposable cups being thrown away every day. Bring your own reusable cup, and we will give you 25p off the price of your take away hot drink. So you can save money whilst you’re saving the planet, which as far as we know is the only planet with coffee, so this is good news!
We are very proud to have been working with that remarkable organisation, The Felix Project, for over a year now and it’s wonderful to know that simply by sharing our unsold daily bread, we are making a real difference to peoples’ lives.
Every year at this time our bakeries are filled with beautiful golden brown puff pastry cakes and a lovely aroma of almond frangipane. The Galette des Rois is traditionally shared on 6th January to celebrate the arrival of the Three Wise Men in Bethlehem.
Although the Galette and the traditions surrounding it are unfamiliar to most people in the UK, to us in France it’s an important symbol of family, conviviality and fun.
This Christmas we’re fund-raising once again for The Felix Project, the charity that works to reduce food poverty and food waste. For every loaf (400g or larger) that you buy between now and 31st December, we will donate 50p to The Felix Project. Last year you helped us to raise £15,000, enabling the charity to buy a new delivery van.
If the joy of the season has been overshadowed by the daunting prospect of preparing for it, here’s a little French inspiration. Just some of those little things, made with love, that make for a bigger, lovelier Christmas for you and your family and friends. Rediscover the joy of giving with our thoughtful gift ideas.
WHY WE USE SEVEN DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF BREAD IN OUR ARTISAN SANDWICHES
Did you know that we bake our own bread every day by hand, the proper old-fashioned French way? There are no shortcuts. It takes seven hours to bake every loaf of PAUL bread. We allow our dough to ferment for longer to allow it to develop its full fragrance and flavour. We use our own flours, specially imported from France, only natural yeast and sea salt and absolutely no additives or preservatives. A PAUL sandwich is made with all of our 127 years of baking expertise. Each baguette is individually shaped by hand in our bakery and freshly filled in our shops, and couldn’t be further from the uniform, chilled, packaged sandwich with its two square bread slices with a filling slapped in.
We’ve created some gorgeous new cakes for life’s most important celebrations. Let’s face it, the British have enjoyed a long love affair with cake. They invented afternoon tea – the perfect excuse to eat more cake. A cake is a little reward, a mini celebration in itself. Britain’s neighbours on the other side of La Manche have been creating wonderful cakes for celebrations for at least a couple of hundred years.
