It's Our 130th Birthday!
Joyeux Anniversaire à nous
PAUL has just turned 130! Join our celebrations by sharing your best PAUL moments with us for the chance to win a delicious treat. Read on to find out how!
DID YOU KNOW WE SHARE OUR 130th BIRTHDAY WITH THE MOST FAMOUS FRENCH SYMBOL IN THE WORLD?
Two very different events that took place in France in 1889 celebrate their 130th anniversaries this year. One became an instant global icon, whilst the other has taken just a little longer to conquer the world! The spring of 1889 saw the opening of the Eiffel Tower at the Exposition Universelle, the world fair in Paris. The 324m wrought iron structure was granted a licence to stand for just 20 years. 130 years later it has become the enduring symbol of France - and one of the most recognised structures anywhere in the world.
Meanwhile, on a small street near Lille in Northern France, a young man called Charlemagne Mayot took over a local bakery in 1889. His descendants are still running PAUL bakeries 130 years later, continuing to bake memorable moments for customers in 45 countries around the world. It’s a remarkable milestone for our French founding family, and we are going to be sharing some of our favourite moments and proudest achievements with you over the next couple of months.
Share your best PAUL moments the chance to win a delicious treat!
We’d love you to join in by sharing with us your own happiest PAUL moments over the years. In our bakeries you will find our 130th birthday postcards. You can write about your best PAUL moment on the back of the card, take a photo of it, tag us on social media using the hashtag #PAULmoments. Or share a photo of your favourite PAUL moment – it might be a beautiful birthday cake, your favourite breakfast, a happy coffee with a friend or afternoon tea in Le Restaurant de PAUL – whatever it is, we can’t wait to hear from you! We’ll share our favourite ‘Moment of the Month’ and if it’s yours, you could win a delicious prize to help you celebrate with us.
Joyeux Anniversaire à nous – and we look forward to sharing it with you.
