Australia is on Fire – a trending hashtag that no one wants to see

Since November 2019, Australia has seen their worst environmental disaster ever recorded with severe fires ravaging communities, wild life and habitats over an estimated 10 million hectares.

As a global company, with a keen interest in sustainability, PAUL are passionate about our environment and wish to support the recovery of communities, wildlife and habitat loss in Australia.

Whilst encouraging our teams to donate to a selection of organisations supporting the Firefighters, and communities of people affected by the fires, we wanted to take action in our stores also to aid the extremely vulnerable and unique wildlife found only in these areas.

On Friday 24th January, just in time for Australia Day on the 26th January, PAUL has committed to donating 100% of the proceeds from every hot drink sold in PAUL UK bakeries. Selling on average, around 11,000 hot drinks per day, we hope to raise a significant amount of funds to donate to WIRES.

WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.) is Australia's largest wildlife rescue organisation and have been rescuing and caring for wildlife for over 30 years. WIRES mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.

With staggering reports of up to 1.25 billion animals having perished in these fires, WIRES have declared that they will share the funds being received across the 3 Australian states affected by the Fires, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

On Friday 24th January, visit a PAUL UK bakery near you, and know that any hot drink purchased will be going towards rehabilitating the precious wildlife affected.

Thank you for supporting Australia Bushfire relief through PAUL UK.
