Our splendid Indian Summer seems to have come to an end.  Sad though this is, there are pleasures associated with the arrival of autumn, not the least of which is our new selection of sensational seasonal products at PAUL.   More reasons to celebrate when you visit us at your local bakery – add a Paulette salad to any lunch product for just £1.00; add a hot or cold drink (excluding Innocent drinks) to your sandwich for a total of just £4.95 to take away. 

 

Hot food for cooler weather

Making a welcome come-back is our full menu of country soups including Provençale Chicken Soup – a satisfying combination of chicken breast with borlotti beans, tomatoes, carrots, onion, celery, savoy cabbage and Provençale herbs.  For vegetarians we have our creamy Mushroom Soup made with chestnut, flat, white, button, oyster, shiitake and nameko mushrooms.   They join our popular Tomato and Basil and Lentil and Spinach soups, and all are served with a slice of fresh PAUL bread. 

Also returning for the autumn is our popular Mushroom Croque filled with sautéed mushrooms, béchamel, Emmental cheese and cream.  A most welcome new addition to our menu of Croques is the Tuna Melt, a French variation on a great British favourite, with tuna, Emmental cheese, goat’s cheese, tomato, mayonnaise, cream and butter. 

Two new toasted sandwiches or Tartines are also making an appearance: Toasted Camembert and Caramelised Onion and Toasted Ham and Cheese, both on our popular farmhouse bread. 

 

Tasty new seasonal savoury products

Welcome back to the Cured Ham Sandwich in Fig Bread.  A customer favourite, this irresistible combination of cured ham with no butter, just a dash of olive oil, is presented in our freshly made fig bread.  We also have a new salad for autumn, Roast Smoked Salmon and Potato.   The rich smokiness of the fish combines perfectly with new potatoes, a kick of mustardy mayo, a scatter of sesame seeds and fresh mixed salad leaves.  Just squeeze over your lemon juice to top off a great-tasting meal.

 

A Tempting Trio of Sweet Treats

We know you’re going to love our new Caramel Tartlet, a crisp individual pastry case filled with luscious creamy caramel.  A special autumn guest, in our shops for a limited time only, is our Pear and Chocolate Charlotte - pears, chocolate crème Bavaroise and pear mousse, encased in sponge fingers.  Also new this season is our Apple Tartlet, crisp puff pastry topped with thinly sliced apple – light and absolutely delicious.
